CVS Trips and This Week's Deals

I went to CVS once last night and again this afternoon to finish up this week's deals and start October deals. I made a bit of a boo-boo, doing the Vitamin D deal only to find out that all CVS vitamins are buy 1 get 1 free this week (and this is something we actually need and use - the boyfriend takes Vitamin D daily). Anyway, live and learn.

yesterday CVS trip:

$5.49 Covergirl clean makeup in lightest shade (I'm as white as a sheet, hope it's not too dark)
$1.69 Fuze
$1.69 Fuze
$1.11 3 Hershey "bar" truffles (on clearance 75% off)
$.99 Dawn Ultra
$2.99 CVS Vitamin D
$2.59 half-gallon skim milk (gallons looked questionable - so had to buy a 1/2)
$3.99 Purell

- $3/$15 CVS
- $.25 Dawn
- $.37 Hershey (this was a mistake, but the cashier didn't void it out)
- $.60 Purell
- $1/1 Covergirl
- $1.62 Buy 1 get 1 free Fuze
- $10 Extrabucks

= $3.70, which I put on a giftcard, so $0.00 Oop

Now, I never do this and find it questionable ethics wise, but I misread the Purell October deal and thought it was buy 1 get 1 Extrabuck, not buy 2 get 1 Extrabuck. I realize that returning the item this morning was slightly sketchy, but I wasn't going to buy it just to have it cause we would never use it, if it were buy 1 get 1, I would have kept it by the kitchen sink, but 2 huge bottles of Purell for $7 was not really worth it, so I returned it this morning (and received $4.23 back).

Anyway, with that purchase, I received my Extrabucks for the summer ($7.50! Considering I hardly spend anything out of pocket, I was impressed), plus the $5.79 for the Cover Girl, $1 for the Fuze and $2.99 for the vitamins.

This morning's trip, I purchased:

$10 4 Scotch Brite 3-ct heavy duty sponges (at $5/2)
$.99 Softsoap
$2.99 Folgers Coffee
$2.99 Folgers Decaf
$4.49 Stayfree Ultra 32 ct
$13.98 2 Febreze Noticeables kits (must have restocked for this week, yay!)
$5.98 2 Colgate Maxfresh toothpastes
$5 Scotch packaging tape duo
$.99 Dawn Ultra
$1.85 5 Hersheys "bar" truffles

- $3/$15 CVS
- $.20 Dawn
- $.25 Folgers
- $.40 Softsoap
- $.50 Folgers
- $1/1 Colgate
- $1/1 Colgate
- $5/1 Febreze
- $5/1 Febreze
- $1/2 Scotch pads
- $1/2 Scotch pads
- $2/1 Stayfree
- $7.50 Extrabucks
- $1.00 Extrabucks
- $5.79 Extrabucks
- $2.99 Extrabucks

= $11.63 which I paid with one of our gift cards - (next purchase, I promise, I'll do all out of pocket) so $0.00 Oop

and I made the following in Extrabucks: $5 from the Scotch, $4 for the Colgate, $1.50 for the Stayfree = $10.50 back

This coming week, I might do a couple of the deals, but we are well stocked for most things in the apartment, so I don't think I'll go crazy. Some of the decent deals:

  • Mennen Deodorant, pay $1.99 get $1 EB back (limit 5)
  • Buy 1 get 1 free CVS vitamins (do the October Vitamin deal and get both free! sorry, they say the Vitamin D is excluded from the buy 1 get 1 free deal =/)
  • $.99 Renuzit adjustable solid
  • $2.99 Renuzit pearl scents air freshener or Soft Scrub
  • spend $20 of various over the counter medication - various brands, get $10 EB (lots of coupon matchups in this week's paper) (limit 1)
  • Bic Soleil catridge or Razor pay $5.99 get $4 EB (limit 5) (I'm searching for coupons but can't find any... if you find, let me know)
  • Colgate maxfresh with beads, pay $2.99 get 2 EB (also a monthly deal)(limit 2)
  • Always infinity pads, pay $4.98, get $4.98 in EB (limit 2)

Running weekly tally for this week: $33.00/$50
